Meet Our Team
Regina Lard, ALC
Under the supervision of Joyce McKay, LPC-S
Individual, Couples, Family, and Group Counselor
My passion for counseling began while working in a field that allowed me to serve and help others. Once I was established in this career, I knew I wanted to continue on the path of helping others. I started my academic journey in counseling at the University of West Alabama. My Masters’ program sparked my passion, and I knew it was the start of where I wanted to be. I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I interned for a private practice in 2021, where I worked with a wide range of clients. The majority of my clients were school-aged children and adolescents. Throughout this time, I counseled a wide range of diagnoses, which exposed me to a diverse range of clients; this allowed me to gain the experience and knowledge to assist clients with various needs. During this internship, I discovered Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Play Therapy practices worked best for me and my clients. While cognitive therapy is the foundation of my counseling career, I strive to be flexible, implementing other therapy practices that best suit my clients’ needs.
As your counselor, I aim to help you understand the available treatment options, be empowered through knowledge, and help you to make the best-informed decisions and create achievable goals throughout your counseling experience. I desire to work with you during our sessions to find the best techniques that work with your lifestyle. If that aligns with you, let’s achieve your goals together!
