Counseling for Individuals, Couples, Family, and Groups
Being in a helping profession has always been a dream of mine. After witnessing the impact of mental health struggles on both loved ones and strangers, I knew counseling was my calling. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020 and later obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2024. I am currently an associate licensed counselor under the supervision of Joyce McKay #01188.
Throughout my academic and clinical training, I gained experience working with eating disorders, substance use disorders, and a range of general mental health concerns. I am passionate about supporting clients facing depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, addictions, personality disorders, and trauma. In addition, I hold a special interest in serving first responders, military personnel, and veterans, drawing on personal experience and understanding of the unique stressors these populations face.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and client-centered, integrating multiple evidence-based modalities to meet each individual’s needs. I am trained in Brainspotting Phase 1, a neurobiologically grounded approach that helps clients process traumatic and distressing experiences. I also incorporate elements of Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I strive to provide clients with education about the brain–body connection, empowering them to understand their experiences through both a psychological and physiological lens.
I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship and am committed to offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. My goal is to help reduce suffering, foster emotional resilience, and guide clients toward a more grounded, empowered sense of self. I approach therapy with honesty, directness, and compassion, modeling healthy communication and genuine human connection.
